HopSkipDrive is a ride service designed specifically for children. It was founded in 2014 by three working mothers – Joanna McFarland, Carolyn Yashari Becher, and Janelle McGlothlin. The service is aimed at helping parents and schools by providing safe transportation for children to school, after-school activities, and other destinations.

The service differentiates itself from other ride-sharing platforms by focusing on the transportation needs of minors, including those who may not yet meet the age requirements for services like Uber or Lyft. Drivers are carefully vetted and have experience working with children, and the company implements safety features to provide peace of mind for parents.

The design work during this time consisted of creating, maintaining, improving, and redesigning all of the features and solutions from the RideIQ platform for School District Administrators. This web desktop application allows users to create and review all the rides and students for their school district, together with reporting, calendar updating, and savings schemes.
