HopSkipDrive is a ride service designed specifically for children. It was founded in 2014 by three working mothers – Joanna McFarland, Carolyn Yashari Becher, and Janelle McGlothlin. The service is aimed at helping parents and schools by providing safe transportation for children to school, after-school activities, and other destinations.

The service differentiates itself from other ride-sharing platforms by focusing on the transportation needs of minors, including those who may not yet meet the age requirements for services like Uber or Lyft. Drivers are carefully vetted and have experience working with children, and the company implements safety features to provide peace of mind for parents.

This particular project required designing a simple but powerful Rewards system that encompassed many aspects of drivers’ performance in order to incentivize better driving and an overall better experience for riders and clients.
